Rockets Evaluations (Tryouts)
About Rockets Evaluations/Tryouts
- Rockets Evaluations take place at the U9, U11, U13, & U15 levels in early September (after AA Titans tryouts) to ensure players are placed in the best tier for their developmental ability for the season.
- Players can choose to try out for AA Titans at the U13, U15 and U18 levels prior to Rockets evaluations.
- Players may also opt out of evaluations altogether (note that players who do choose to opt out or miss sessions will be placed on the lower tiered team)
- At each age group, players will be pooled together from all SOMHA and SJAMHA community centres to in order to create teams at the different tier levels (A1, A2 or A3).
- Players are evaluated by outside evaluators during 2-4 evaluation skates
- After evaluations, players are placed on teams with who share similar ability and level. Please note: Depending on number of players and teams at each level, teams may be hosted out of either SJAMHA or SOMHA.
*NEW* Players interested in playing at the u18A level will be invited to an informal Meet & Greet Skate with coaches. Please see below for dates and times.

Please note: schedule may change at any time. All registered players in all age groups who are participating in evaluations will receive an email from max@maxanalytics.ca closer to the evaluation dates confirming their scheduled upcoming skate (this usually happens only a few days prior to the skate). Please be sure to check your junk mail folder and search for email messages from "Max".
In addition, depending on the 3rd party Evaluator's plan and if they have been able to evaluate all skill areas for a particular player, it is possible that not all players will be invited to every skate. Rockets/Titans Hockey Club does NOT have influence on the final schedules or when players will skate. If a player misses their assigned evaluation skate(s), it is possible that the player will be placed on the lowest tiered team. Please act accordingly.
*Goalies will be asked to attend their level's evaluation skates as well as a Goalie session where evaluators can concentrate on specific skill sets.
